After a properly old-school newspaper journalism apprenticeship, Sian left Fleet Street (or, what remained of it) for New York in 2001 to work as a correspondent for publications including The Times, Marie Claire and Red magazine. Since settling in Sussex, Sian has tailored her writing to provide copy that sells for commercial clients in the UK and France. Yes, France. Sian was born there and speaks fluent français. Sian is co-chair of Akin the West Sussex collective of commercial creatives, and a member of the ProCopywriters alliance of commercial writers.
Words are a great way to sell what you do, says Sian. It is all about telling a story – in a way that people want to read and will remember. I love finding out what someone wants to say and working out the best way to help them say it.
Great writing is the same whether you are conjuring up a headline to shift papers or creating content for a client who wants to make their business dreams a reality.
